So I was thinking

Really what is the purpose of bumper stickers on the back of cars? Do the people in front of me really think that they are going to make a difference in the 20 secs. That I have sit behind them. Really all these stickers do is shove your opinions down my throat..I mean can I really accept god with exhaust coming through the vents because you don't put on, or keep up with, the maintenance of your car or truck.

Come on people, just say no to the bumper sticker...All it does is bring down the value of your car because the sunshine doesn't fad the paint equally. You know where a good place for a bumper sticker would be? On the back of one of our tanks over in Iraq...Some thing that would read like:

"roses are red, violets are blue, Saddam you prick here is one for you"
or
"Baghdad or Bust"

now those would serve a purpose...If nothing else it shows our appetite for bumper stickers.

On a totally different note, and one that I have not really addressed.....And this is the NHL Hockey season being canceled....Now to most this means nothing...And to tell you the truth I could care less for hockey in the regular season.....But playoff hockey just takes the cake.....Let remember people that these guys do this stuff on skates.....fuck I can barely get them laced up let alone try to find a puck, skate down while people are trying to knock you down and into the boards with their bodies or stick and then try to score. Let me say this...If you have never been to a Hockey Game live....Go. You will get a better understanding for the sport....I am going to miss my playoff hockey.

One last thing, remember Gary Payton? Yep he was the point guard that we got from seattle by trading away Ray Allen. He took Sam Cassels point guard spot....now let me just say that these two were in the same mold because they looked like they were going to cry every game....they were poison....hello people it is a "team" sport. But they were not happy and ended up leaving.....

<~~~~~~~Flash to current time and space continuim~~~~~~~~~~>
Gary Payton (a once thought hall of fame'r)just got traded from Boston to Atlanta...yep all 10 win Atlanta.

Oh and Cassell...well he has managed (with the help of Latrell "choke my coach" "can't feed my family on 10 million per year" Spreewell)to take a legitimate contender for a title in minnesota and turned them into a joke.

Can I just say one thing

It is Official

Today was the big day....I accepted the offer from Staff Management. And I have to tell ya that it feels good to be wanted by a company. They offered a nice bonus and such which makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Today Jen and I went and looked at beds....we can't decide which kind of bed we would want...

all we can agree upon is that a king size is in order cuz lets face it...the farther apart we get at night the better.......just kidding.

Well I want a pillow top bed, something soft and squishy that I can drift away in. Well jen wants hers to be more firm. Well when ever we decide to make the purchase I think that what is going to happen is that there is a 90 day trial where if we don't like the pillow top we can exchange it for free for a more plush, thus firm, mattress.

So on another note...remember the old guys I used to bitch about down at the Y....well since they found out I took a new job and won't be coming down there in the morning anymore they seem to be all disappointed....almost like they will miss me.....

fucking old coots....they still weird me out

Super Size Me

We lost our signal yesterday from our dish, the wet snow really did a number. That was the first time in the 2 years we have had it that we lost signal.....I used to lose signal once every other month with cable...so it was ok.

In the mean time jen and I rented the movie supersize me, which is up for an Oscar for best documentary last year. Now I have to say Moore's 9/11 is up also and he is the proverbial favorite but SSM is one hell of a movie.

Quick incite on the movie, this guy reads that two girls ages 17 and 9 sue McD's for their obsesity claiming all the ads, toys, marketing and such to intise them in the store then not offer a healthy meal for them. the judge threw out the case because the girls could not prove that McD's did detrimental damage to them.........so here come Morgan to the rescue. He places himself on a 30 day, three meal a day mcD's binge. Now to be fair he had to have every item on the menu at least once during those 30 days.......wanna know what happened.....not only did he gain 25 pounds in a month, his body shut down......he was basically pickling his liver, his cholesterol went from a healthy 165 (which is where mine is thank you very much) to 250.....in thirty days. The doctors at the end said that if he was going to continue for the full thirty days that if he felt any tingling in his arms or chest to immediately call 911 for help......it was that bad.

Jen and I couldn't believe it, dumbfounded really.

So go and rent SuperSize Me today and you won't go to McD's for a very long time

New addition to the family

she's perfect..

So yesterday I realized that we needed a new coffee maker. reason being is that the other one which we had, we got as a x-mas gift from my parents, I think even before we were married...which means it would be between 7-13 years old.....yeah, time to put her to retirement.

OOOO OOOOO look what I found from mr.coffee at target......she is programmable...which means that when I wake up at 3:30 in the morning my coffee will be done....and it will turn off automatically.....and it has a water filter built right in (ok they got me on the monthly filters I need to buy).....but overall she is a beaut isn't she?

Oh and why do I have to get up at 3:30 in the morning?........well I have been offered a job. Not the perfect job, not even a good paying job but it is a job.

Jen and I sat down and talked about it. She understands that it is not the perfect job, or even one that I would stay at for very long....you want to know what she said to me....even after all this time of school and working and no money....she said "I don't want you to take a job that you really don't want"....yeah she said that to me...can you believe it? Not "it's not forever" or even "get your ass back to work already"....she said that she would rather see me happy than take the job......love is blinding isn't it.......

Anyway after thinking about it for a while ultimately it came down to the fact that it would be irresponsible for me to not take the job. I mean I have been looking for 3 months now and have had a total of three interviews.....two of which have been bullshit...Commission only jobs.

So tomorrow I am headed over there to get a full tour and talk money, hours and all that good stuff....will keep you up to date on the progress of talks.

Ever break a bone?

ok people this is a family oriented site so please lets keep it that way.

I did....when I was 17 or so. I played basketball in high school...and pretty good if I might say so...although I didn't have the killer instinct in me so I passed to much and should have shot more.

Anyway, it was May and me and a bunch of guys went down to the local park to play some pick up ball. I remember there were some college guys down there that we played.....I muscled my way across the lane, go the ball and turned to shoot. As I turned I got a slap to the ball...only he got more hand than ball and broke a bone. Damn that hurt...I had jammed many of fingers in my day and that is what it felt like. Funny thing is that the family was about to leave for a vacation in Florida in a week. I tried to play it off, wanting to just wait until we got back to have it x-rayed....my mom figured it out when I couldn't cut my own food. I told her that I was not going down but she made me. couple of hours later I was in a cast up to my fore arm and had to spend the vacation that way....crap crap crap.

It is the only bone I broke in my entire life....through all the sports I played I never broke anything...until then.

I know that there are more gruesome stories out there and I know that she has broken more than mwah.

reason for this post....well I was trying to open a jar of pickles today and it was a tough son-of-a-bitch. anyway once I finally got it to pop my hand hurt but it felt like when I broke that bone.....can you do that? break a bone by trying to open a jar of pickles? I mean who does that? Honestly?

but I can still cut my own food so I should ok...I will recover.

Well Seabiscuit is on....that is a good movie.

Oh I got one for yeah!...there is this lady that goes to the Y like everyday. she has the cuties daughter that has become one of tommy's best friends. Anyway she runs triathlons and shit. Anyway she had a baby last weds....oh and was working out the day before.....this last tuesday she was down working out again...less than a week had passed. I kept thinking that this is not normal....freak of nature really.....

just my observation....jen said sarcastically "good for her"......

"what do you mean?"
"you know what that is about?"
"dude it isn't for me, it is for my mom"
"ummmm....Ok"

I looked back and here was 3 guys about 20 years old or so.....Had to laugh

Long time Love

It all started 13 years ago...and what a first impression I made. It happend with a stupid water fight with water bottles, You know the ones that all women have on their dresser to just spritz their hair.

Someone got squirted by one and then all hell broke loose. What I remember is jens roommate (who we bubbed este crayola because of the multi layerd eye shadow)and thier romm was soaked. Funny thing is, jen was taking a shower and when arriving back at her water soaked room.....she was pissed.

I know I make such a great first impression...I think is was the long hair...or maybe the bud hat that I always wore....ok maybe those were deterants but I must have done something right.

Anyway on this fabricated holiday that was thought up by the "the system" to bring out the fools in us all I have to say that I maybe the luckiest man alive.

Even after 13 years, 2 kids, countless hard times, some good times and even more great times we still say "I love you" at least 3 times a day we still find each other when we get home to get a kiss and we still go to bed together at night at the same time and it is still my favorite time of day, in my favorite place with my favorite person.

So to my favorite person, who I love endlessly and passionatelly

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

One word or four?

I say it is four words that are hyphenated to make one word.......

PAIN-IN-THE-ASS

yep definitely one word. This is important because of the immediate impact that a single word has versus four words. I mean you can say things like "I got one word for you".......or.........well that is all I can come up with at this time..but I am sure there are more but thinking about it is a "pain-in-the-ass"

Interview

I had an interview today with a financial mortgage company. I am getting really good at picking out the sales jobs that are "hidden" as other jobs. This one was for a mortgage loan officer, but I new better really.

Ok first off if you are going to disguise a sales job as something else lets start with the office, which looks like it can be broken down and moved at any point....you know just in case the feds show up.

Also in the interview itself, don't do a recruiting job......this one is a big pet peeve of mine. I don't want to be recruited I want to be interviewed and beat everyone else out cause I have her and her to make me cool and stuff.

I didn't say but three words for almost 30 minutes before he asked if I had any questions....at which point I said nope and got the hell out the door before....well...the feds showed up.

And one last thing, if the potencial earnings range between 15K and 300K you know you are in trouble. What they don't tell you is the ass kissing that takes place just to make 15K and the person that is making 300K is just a fictious person that all the sales people are striving to achieve but actually feel worse cause this "person" that is making 300K is soooooo much better than everyone else. I think that I am now going to call him Durk, yes that fictious person that is making all this money now is Durk....cause it rhymes with something else.

Sleep time

How come in the middle of the night I can't fall back asleep? I mean I drift in and out but for the most part once my eyes are open at 3am I can't get back into that deep sleep...pisses me off really. I want the days of being 17 again just so I can get into that deep sleep...just once.

I am thinking that we need a new bed soon, ours is getting almost 10 years old and I am obviously not sleeping on it very well. And if you think about it we spend close to a third of our lives sleeping, so why not buy a really good bed.

I figure that you know when you are getting old when the "select number bed" commercial looks "really" cool. I wonder what number I am?

"The Call"

It came yesterday....I knew it would. I tried to read her voice before she came with the decision....and I couldn't.....that can't be good.

well it turns out it was good.....face to face interview next week (WOO HOO...and there was much rejoicing)

Onto a point of contention in this house. The boys bedrooms are a mess! Even when clean it is a mess.

Pure Mess

So the decision has been made to organize....this is going to take a while to truly take advantage of. We need shelving and organized bins, we need to throw out all the McD's toys and the toys that have been half eaten by the dog. All other toys are up for grabs at this point.....and they better have a good argument for keeping them.....like "we play with those". Any other excuse and they are going to goodwill for some other little boys to play with instead of being a home for spiders downstairs. Now the hard part, what kind of theme do we go with for the boys?

Off and running

I am like a deer in headlights now waiting for a decision on if They are going to call me back after my 3rd phone interview. This one was with the person that would be my boss, Jennifer was her name........ha kinda like at home.....might as well keep things consistent.

She was interviewing 4 or 5 other candidates for the position over the phone on weds and I should hear back tomorrow on if she would like to bring me in for a face to face......finally....whew!

if not then it wasn't meant to be and we move on, who knows they may like me and I may not like them.....we'll just wait and see.

I would like to share some excerpts from Dominic's book that he got from Grandma Honey....needless to say we all got a good laugh, although the kids weren't always sure what we were laughing at......The book? "Exploring the Solar System"

"Pretend you are looking at the nine planets from a spacecraft flying past Uranus"......(like they couldn't choose a different planet)

"Most astronomers believe a huge cloud of gases and dust, called "cosmic soup" was spinning in space like a plate"......(I just like the "cosmic soup" part)

"they knew that something was affecting the orbit of Uranus, and it turned out to be the gravitational pull of a new planet"......(there has to be a cream for that....right?)

"Both are huge balls of liquids and gases, without a solid surface to stand on."..............(hehe they said "balls")

Yeah good times!
