Oh Oh.....don't start to get to excited

Ok we were onto interview number 2 over the phone with Them when I realized that the position wasn't for Johnsonville foods but rather Them onsite for Johnsonville Foods......ok not as exciting but still!!!!!

JF outsources them to do the bulk of their HR stuff and They need a production supervisor......this is where I come in.....well of course I nailed the second phone interview.......so where does this lead me?.....yep you guessed it, onto the 3rd phone interview on weds.....Whew!

So this is my day on Weds...phone interview in morning....then travel up to Appleton for first interview with mortgage company..........

I am not getting to excited at this point.....the said disappointment in both taking a shit would really tie my stomach in knots....so just being who I am and let the chips fall where they may.......

doesn't stop me from hoping though

Oh yeah and hey mom and dad wanna go out for lunch?

Can you feel the love?

That is right the job gods have decided to sprinkle a little love my way. In a matter of less than an hour I got two calls for interviews.

The first was for Johnsonville Foods. Now JF didn't actually call it was a staffing company. The positions was for "production supervisor" but after looking on the website I think it is actually for and "assistant production supervisor".....Ummm that is ok too! They started off with what they call behavioral questions....These are questions that start with "give me a time when.." or "can you give me an example of when...". the nice thing about those is that I can prepare for those before the second interview.....there are only a limited number of behavioral questions....so the second phone interview is on saturday....we'll see I guess.

The second interview is with a mortgage company..."ideal financial". After looking them up on the net they got all kinds of rave reviews..."lowest this" and "best that". Now I have to be careful here because "mortgage loan officer" could mean "sales person" also......and it wouldn't take long before I became frustrated with that....cuz lets face it...I just don't have the asshole quotient. This interview is in Appleton on weds......which means

it means that I have to cut hair and clean up to make an impression...I just hope these are not my last interviews for another two months.....sheesh!

Fall of a forgotten superhero!

That is right the bearded wonder is no longer. Its arch enemy got the best of him, the incredible itchamus wore him down after not much more that a week of nothing less than a superhero fight!

Oh wowiees me, the bearded wonders damsel is going to miss the bearded wonder but she has already been seen with lust in her eyes for the pervulus Plarge.....And lets face it he is much better looking.

On a side note, do we remember when tarantula's were considered poisonous and very dangerous.....Well apparently they don't even have teeth to bite you....Instead they just pinch you with their legs......Wimps!

Horrible, no good, very bad day...even in Australia

I seem to be having more and more of these lately. The divine One made a suggestion that my resume reads "sales, sales, sales"....so the obvious question is "but that is all I have done"...so how do you make it sound like you haven't done sales when all you have done is sales......confused yet?

Today was not a good day, school started and they screwed up my financial aid. I came home to find that there has been all of 8 postings for jobs...took a nap and woke up with a back ache and I think that I am getting sick.

This is one of those back aches that make your stomach queasy....yeah one of those....

Well mom always said there be days like this horrible, no good, very bad days.....even in Australia

Snow Snow Snow

Since most of you that read this live is Wisconsin.......HOW ABOUT THIS BIZZATCH!!!!!

I think that most of everyone is getting 6 inches or so (I know there is some really funny joke to insert here but I can't think of it), but now that we are next to the lake we are going to get lake effect snow, which can add another 3-5 inches....(hehe I said "inches")

Ok how about an update on the old "job search"....Which I am going to start calling it something else cause this is not a search.....It is more....Like......I need some ideas here so how about sending over some alternate names for "job search".

Since I had an old friend that we have known since college see me at the Y yesterday morning and she called me the "bearded wonder" this is going to be my new nick name...P "bearded wonder" Large......hehe

I have been looking for jobs from Milwaukee all the way throughout the fox cities....and yesterday I decided to apply at a company that would be way cool to work at....but I am waiting for the rejection letter anyhow....that would be Oshkosh Truck. they make the in your face, severe-duty, don't fuck with me, mudd slinging, armed forces trucks......now that would be very cool, beside it would be fun to head back to our old stomping grounds.......*heavy sigh*

Just don't do that Please

In the morning I head down to the YMCA for a little workout.....Trying to lose these extra pounds but not having much luck.....So the only reason for going now is the hot tub after sweating my ass off downstairs.

There are a couple of things that bug me and at times I just want to say "just don't do that please".

First, this morning this guys gets on the machine next to me.....asks if he can change the channel of the TV in front of us.....No problem dude....And he puts on the "daily show" on comedy central...Very cool. All of a sudden with every joke that is being delivered this guy next to me starts to laugh outloud......I turn my music up higher....Still here is endless giggles.....I am working out here people..."Just don't do that please".

Second are the old men in the locker room....Most of them are great guys and I like to bullshit with them....But at the same time lets have some humility please. Walking around with your gravity induced hard on's with no towel on is bad enough, but if you are going to go over to the sink and shave please put on something....Just something to cover yourself. I don't what your junk hanging all over the sink and to top it off I don't need to see your pimply old wrinkly ass either..So just don't do that please.

Lastly back to the guy from above who was giggling all the time, well after got off of the cross-trainer I went on to the treadmill, he ended up next to me about 10 mins later. All of a sudden I see his hand jerk up and down, which lets be real here is a little scary. So I look over and here this guys is playing air guitar to what ever music is playing..I couldn't help thinking to myself that this guy actually thinks that by doing this he looks cool. Like any girl out there has dated a guy strickly because he could play a really cool air guitar......Well all this hand jerking and giggling really screwed up my rhythm....I was going to look over and say "dude...You look like a dork, don't do that any more please"......but that would have just been mean.

ROCK ON DUDE!!!

Bearded wonder

So this whole job thing is really getting on my nerves.....So back to basics

Being that I am superstitious by nature (all my years of sports I guess) I decided that it is time for the beard to come in. I have tried this in the past and have not had much luck. Not for the fact that I can't grow one but rather something comes up that I have to shave it....Once it was the birth of a child (no way jen was going to let the first pictures of father and son be with a beard) and another time I was looking for a new job.......So lets give this a try and see if the phone starts to ring some shall we?

American Idol

I am flipping through the stations tonight because I can't watch my show that I want because I am taping it for JEN and we will watch it tonight after she gets home.

Anyway I come across the American Idol and can't believe some of these people think that they can sing.

Which gets me thinking.....do I really think that I can pull off finding a job outside of the sales profession? There is a part of me that says just keep the course. I have always said that if I keep doing something long enough to figure it out then I can do anything, but I am not even getting calls for interviews. Is there some big red flag on my resume or something that I am missing?

I need some love from those people that are in charge of hiring cuz I don't smell or anything... I have all my teeth.....I even shave everyday and have a cool haircut (cuz I leave it up to HER)

So if anyone has any special secrete to this job thing it would be much appreciated.

Big P

I have been ho humming around for the last couple of months on a website design for my blog. It changed so many times that my Lil' Sis just gave up and figured that I would come to her when ready.

Well ready happend this last weekend while watching the movie "Big Fish". I told her that I wanted something "tim burtonish". He is the same guy that wrote and directed movies like "edward scissorhands" and "james and the giant peach". I wanted something kind of psychodelic....well she gave it to me and now I am all happy and stuff.

So to my Lil' Sis......your the best!

Besides now she knows I am going to hit her up for her.

Chocolate Milk

Got Milk?????

I don't know why but lately I have had this craving for chocolate milk. Now I don't like the whole chocolate milk, you know the thick kind. Although good I don't get much satisfaction out of it. I want the skim chocolate milk made with ovaltine "yep the drink more ovaltine kind". Reason being is that I don't get a cup and sit down with it, I make a cup and chug it all in one sitting. Actually it takes longer for me to make it than it does for me to drink it. In fact I won't even drink it if it sits longer than a minute or two. I has to be ice cold and I need to slam it like it was going out of style.

weird huh?

Sundays

Sundays are really my favorite day. One of the reasons is that Monday is coming next. Now don't get me wrong it is not that I like Mondays it is just that I can use Monday as an excuse to not have to do much on Sunday. See Saturday is the day where you say "well I got Sunday to relax soooooo...."

See what I mean? On this particular Sunday there was not much that was to be done. Ironically we stayed busy most of the day. There was the trip to target where we needed to pick up some simple stuff like TP, deodorant, laundry soap and that kind of thing.....Shit $65 later.....dammit!

Well then I figured we actually need food in the house so $80 later.....I know only $80 for 4 people? Well jen has this knack of stretching a dollar....Amazing really.

I did 4 loads of laundry cuz I don't want the stinky kids in the school, that would suck. Oh and by the way you want to know what I hate? matching all the socks....yep maybe the most tedious job ever. There sits a pile of 5 or 6 types of socks, which isn't to bad, but it is the fact there are 40 maybe 50 single socks that need to be matched up........Drives me crazy.

the ended with our friend Becky coming over because she still had some x-mas gifts for the boys at her house. She showed up with spiderman web sprayers and masks, gloves that make noise and even a power ranger for Dominic.

Then to top it off we got a very nice gift certificate to the blue harbor and any restaurant of our choice there. There was no need for the size of the gift certificate.....But we are appreciative in any regard. Ironically we are going to need her services in order to go ain't that the kicker.

well back to the grind I guess......

Funny Ads

There are just some ads that we see where both JEN and I stop and look at each other and can't believe people buy this shit.

So first and foremost is the GRIP AND FLIP THAT COMES WITH THE SCOOP AND STRAIN. NOT TO BE OUT DONE WITH THE 6-1 WHISK. Apparently the 6-1 whisk can do most of what the flip & grab and scoop & strain can do. Anyway they say that it is a $60 dollar value but we can get it $17.00....man what a deal....who produces this shit.

The other one that we just laugh at is The Most Relaxing Classical Album in the World...Ever!. Now how can they make the claim of ever? I mean come on people....EVER? Really, I am sure that I could put together a more relaxing album....but then again it would all be relative. But the real kicker is the announcer on TV who pauses.......then with emphasis says.....EVER!!!!!!!!!

The funny thing is that I start to pay attention more to the commercials now only because it is fun to try to recognize what they are doing to grab my attention, to pull me in and get me to buy their product.....I think they may work harder then the actual show.....watch sometime instead of going to pee....it is fun.

this sucks

It is 4am and I am wide awake....this happens when I have to actually get up for something in the middle of the night.......tonights eposide has to do with a stupid dog.

Yeah we don't call snickers by her name anymore....only stupid dog. So stupid dog decides that she has to go out and do her business only it is 2am. I groggerly turn over to see Jen get up and sit on the side of the bed.....ok cool I can actually sleep through the night for once. So I roll over only to feel her leg...now either I was dreaming the whole thing or she just laid back down......I had to have dreamed it....weird

Now it is 4am and I am fricken tired but can't seem to sleep....well we will give it one more whirl...wish me luck.

Disturbing

I don't remember my dreams very often, but when a cat has the ordasity to start the meowing thing again last night and I wake up I seem to remember them better.

So last nights installment had something to do with Bill Gates.....I think in an almost fatherly figure he was giving me advice. Not sure what on...and I hope it isn't my love life so I am going to assume it has something to do with my job search.....

Oh so you wonder where that is going since I haven't written about it in a while. Well let me tell you, if you are a nurse and you don't take the time to specialize in some type of nursing you are missing out on some unbelievable opportunities out there. Some of these specialized nurses are being offered over $50 an hour.....yep and if you do the math on that...ummm....let me see.....ok 40 hours......four weeks.......times 12 months.....well your close to 100K a year.....ummmmm wow

Also engineers seem to have the market cornered also....Apparently everyone needs engineers...who woulda knew?

oh and lastly I am ashamed to say it but the sales profession has really taken a shit'r out there. One of the reasons I want to leave the profession is the apparent stigma of sales people.....I think my SISTER said something about blood sucking, vomit, scum of the earth.....or something along those lines. Anyway sales people apparently think of themselves that way also, case in point. I get a call from a buddy of mine that I haven't talked to in a while and he asks what kind of work I want to do...And I said something along the lines of anything but sales.....his response to me was:

HIM: Yeah you didn't have the killer instinct
ME: you mean the asshole quotecant?
HIM: Exactly

Now isn't it sad when even people in the profession feel you need to be a A-hole to succeed. They don't realize they are undercutting their own business for the quick buck....selling their soul for the almighty dollar.....but then again they have to put food on the table also....well without them none of us would have jobs now would we.

Shame on Oprah

Today...in case you missed it....she dressed up 11 men in female drag and they had to live like that for..I think two weeks. Here is my take on this little stunt....she again places men in the "stupid" category. What about us men being a little represented out there people. Yeah we have all kinds of "hey men are dogs" shows out there but how about a little love people. There are plenty of men out there who do their jobs, take care of the kids, help with the housework....Then to top this off do all the "male" jobs at the same time. But just like with men there are plenty of crap women out there too. Hello how about a little recognition here, how about understanding our needs....We just don't "bitch" about it nearly as often.

Man, I need a hug

Yeah that was mature

I have a bone to pick with those of you who think that the Randy Moss "mooning" of the crowd was oh so funny. Yeah it was funny if your like 10 years old. I watch the players say "oh it is no big deal" and "randy will be randy". My only argument is this, if you had a 10 year old playing pop Warner football, just how funny is it then....Yeah didn't think so. How about some restraint here people, it was rude and embarrassing not only to the vikqueens but also to the league. I would be disgusted if one of our players did that.....But randy is the "precious". Yep if you ever saw the movie lord of the rings randy moss is the same thing as that stupid ring.....Just can't see yourself parting ways and put up a blind eye to the horror he brings.....Oh well.

Apparently my cat has decided that he is going to be really choosy over exactly what kind of food he is going to eat. I gave him some friskies last night before bed....Salmon diner...mmmmm doesn't that sound good.....and he refused to eat it. Instead he meow'd for 2 hours straight last night while I was trying to sleep.....fucking cat...I was about to throw him back outside and tell him to get lost again.

Tommy has a friend down at the Y....Emma. Yep Emma and Tommy are like the best of friends. Emma always brings down toys from home for them to play with together....Well before Christmas she brought down a stuffed cat and they had a blast together. So we asked Tommy if he would like a cat for x-mas and his response???? "no I hate cats"......So we laughed and didn't think anything of it. Well that was until he got to sit on santa's lap....He actually asked Santa for a cat....Who woulda knew?

Mondays

I would hate to say I told you so, but I told you so. The packers laid a big old egg on the field yesterday. They were prime for the upset and the Vikes kicked their asses all over the field.....

People....lets go back to last season....people remember only that they made it to the divisional game and 4 and 26.....what we forget is that they barely made the playoffs in the first place...we needed a mirial in arizona for us to get in, in the first place.

They have a offense that can dominate games but that defense in ugly, I mean really ugly. Until that changes we will barely make the playoffs for the next couple of years...if at all.

Anyway at least we have a day of playoff football, lots of teams don't....so take this lose with a grain of salt...we got a game at home and a divison championship...

My morning was filled with just plain stupidity, yeah yeah I know all the jokes here...Insert what you want. But out of pure niceness I went out and started jens car for her...but I did it with my keys...not sure why but I did.

Anyway after coming in and getting the boys ready to go I spent the next 20 minutes looking for my keys....yep the same keys that I started the car with.....damn I need to get a job.

mmmmmmmmmmmm playoffs

I love the playoffs. Yep and again the pack is in for the fight. These are the days where you wake up in the morning and have the knot in your stomach and keep looking at the clock waiting for game time.....is it game time yet.......is it game time yet?

Now that being said I would like to say the I don't feel good about this game....reason being is that the pack have everything on their side. Weather, home field, playoff records, don't have players that walk off the field early, a coach that wears a pencil in his ear (which I hear is a #3 pencil with no eraser, so he can't read what he writes and even if he could he couldn't erase it anyway). It is prime for an upset....just don't like it...lets remember this is the reason they play the games.

Big Fish

I got to watch the movie BIG FISH for my marital relations class. So I put in the DVD yesterday with Tommy and we watched the whole movie and who would of known that Tommy loved the movie. The stories really got him interested and I didn't hear a peep from him the whole time....and he didn't fall asleep either so I know he was interested...

Dominic got to see it this morning and liked it so much that he actually put down the video games.....cool

Early Morning

Lately I have been getting up around 7:30 or so, then it becomes a race to get the kids fed, dressed, backpacks, teeth brushed, backpacks filled, blah blah blah. Jenny is definitely not a early morning person, since usually she just rolls over and by all accounts gets the best sleep of the night as soon as I leave.....What does that say?

Anyway since we got the "gamecube" the kids can't play it until certain things are done, which is all of the above along with bedrooms and basements cleaned up and organized.....I should have bought one a long time ago cuz you would think we had a maid or something.

Last night we all played CONGO BONGO as a family. Dominic has some rhythm....But needs some work, Tommy just loves to beat on something and jenny and I just tried to keep up.

So we got snow last night, how very cool. I love the look of snow, just not looking forward to shoveling after the Y this morning....Oh well

Snow snow snow

I love it when it snows. We are expected to anywhere between 3-6 inches, so not enough to really cause havoc but enough to make it look like winter again...Cool

so I am taking this class for three weeks, marital communications and relations. I am in day two of the class it is just a lot of reading and such...So today I get to watch the movie "on golden pond". Yeah somehow relating "on golden pond" to my future work experience just seems stupid, but hey stupid is as stupid does....Right?

the divine One speakith again people....Play close attencien.....Now if only he could get me a job.

well all for now,.....Boy I need some inspiration here.

Goals

For the last couple of years I have sat down and started to think about goals for the new year in early december. This year Jen said she would like to do this with me. What I found is that if I write down my goals for the new year, even if I don't look at them again for the rest of the year, when I take stock of what I accomplished for the year it is amazing to me what I accomplish in connection to what I wrote down. Wanna know some of the stuff I have written down and accomplished in the past?

bought our first home
purchased a mini-van
achieved a 3.5GPA in my classes (well not last semester, but I did do it)
Mp3 player
bought bicycles for jen and I (although they were cheap at a garage sale..oh and they need some work which I have not done yet)
got our first DVD Player
Achieved over 1/2 million in sales (well when I was employed)
wrote my first business plan
got a new laptop (well with some help of course)
and lastly went almost all wireless (this is sat. tv, cell phones, wireless home network)

There is more but they are more personal...and you can't read those.

now in my years studing sales, goals were one of the key components to success (obviously didn't work for me). So just writing them down isn't enough anymore, now we have to place why we want them....what is the connection to that goal. As an example, if I want to achieve a 4.0 GPA in school it isn't enough just to say that. Why do I want that, what is the connection to it. If I put cuz somebody else wants me to do it it is not a good goal.....make sense? If not tough shit!

When we are done with our goals I wil put a couple up here just so if anyone can help me achieve any of them you will informed.

Oh by the way.....if the packers actually had a defense this year our team would be hugely dangerous.

Tommy Update

Remember my split pea soup that I was talking about two days ago? Jenny grabbed some for lunch today. After much anticipation she finally got a chance to eat some. She grabbed her soda and spoon.....Came in the living room to help Dominic with a video game. As she puts the first spoonful in her mouth Tommy comes up and looks at her soup....And this is what follows...

"mom that smells good"
"it tastes good too"
"mom?"
"yeah tom?"
"that looks like puke!"

Needless to say jenny said her soup didn't taste as good after that comment.

commence the ass kicking!

Happy New Year!!!!!

So happy new year everyone!!!

what happened last night? Since our baby sitter couldn't get here until 9:30 or so Jen and Parry came over last night around 8:30...and we....well drank.

Since Parry doesn't drink, he is the designated driver....nice to have every once and a while, cause I am the one that normally drives.

We ended up at the "Wild Side"....a new bar in town patterned after the movie Coyote Ugly...for those of you who haven't seen the movie the premise is girls danceing on the bars.....very cool by the way.

So there was dancing on the bars last night...and no me and her did not dance on the bars...although I probably could have convinced her to do it.......one word here people......."woodchuck" beer....sneaks up on ya!

I was going to post some pics from the evening that jen took with the phone...but alas they didn't turn out very good. So will have to pass on those.

Well here is to 2005 and lets face it...thank god 04 is done!
