Medellia of the Gray Skies

I woke this morning very tired as Jen and I went out and had a great time last night. Bars, drinks, losses in darts and pool but all that excitement must have taken its toll because as of this morning I had 4, Yeah count them, 4 grey hairs in my goatee.

Now Jen has mentioned this in the past kind of playfully and I have never seen them until this morning.

My heart is heavy with youth lost so quickly.

Fishing Blues

I am not a fisherman, other than dipping a pole into a lake and wait for the bobber to go under is all I really got.

Dominic got a call on Monday night from someone (I am not saying who) and was asked if he would like to go fishing with his cousin the next day. Holy crap Dominic was excited and to tell you the truth I was for him. To top this off he got a fishing pole for his birthday and has yet to use it. We fixed it up so he could do some practice casting and he was in heaven.

I came home last night to a dejected Dominic because they didn't go fishing. There was an excuse and some swimming but no fishing, you could see his disappointment. Fuck it I am taking him fishing, of course I will rope my buddy Justin into coming to help but I am just saying.

Will take some picture when we go.

Sunday Mornings

I think that in the past I have written about how I love Sunday mornings. I wake up early, make breakfast and coffee and put on "Sunday Morning" on CBS. The rest of this house sleeps. I know it won't last long so as long as I get 1/2 hour then all will be ok.

See that is when the boys get up and breakfast is made for them and cartoons have to be put on. But on Sundays I make them get their own breakfast and force them to watch something informative like CBS's Sunday morning....Which lasts all of 15 minutes of course.

Well yesterday was a good day. As I have written about in the past and the lack of posts has indicated our laptop took a dump a little while back. Yesterday morning I decided since it is a big piece of shit I was going to take it apart and just learning something about the way they are built. So I grabbed the laptop and power supply, went downstairs with toolbox and plugged it in......HOLY SHIT A LIGHT TURNED ON!!!!

Hit the power button and it powered up.....HELLO BABY, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE. My only thought was to get off all the important stuff to the other computer and ride it until it dies...So far so good.

So unlike the paranoia of a cell phone battery going dead I am just waiting for this thing to die again. Until then all is right with the world.

British Open

I know most of you don't really care about the British Open being played at Royal Liverpool. Being one of the four golf majors, the course should either be extremely hard or extremely gorgeous, this one is neither.

Scores are out of this world, you probably have to shoot a -18 to win (some of you will get that some won't).

As far as the condition of the course, the best reference I heard was on the Jim Rome show yesterday when he got an email that said.

Dear British Open,

Course looks great, unbelievable condition...

Signed

102 degree's

I know it sounds like a boy band but today it was the temp outside.

When we were looking for houses to buy 4 years ago I had two pre-req's. First was that it had at least 1 1/2 baths. Having two shitters in the house with three boys was a brilliant foresight on my part.

Second was that the house had central air already installed, again I am way to smart for my own good.

Well we looked at a house around the corner from where we live now and though it had a whirlpool bath in the basement it had no central air. But boy it had everything else, four bedrooms, redone basement, HUGE backyard....But no central air. What did we buy? No redone basement, only three bedrooms, no backyard, our porn loving neighbor who if reads this just a little "note to self" please close your blinds at night, and lastly ours has no whirlpool.

Jen still doesn't let me live it down in the winter about that whirlpool bath everytime we drive past. Well when it is 102 outside she doesn't speak so loudly.

Hey, what's up?

Yeah I know it has been a while. Since I have been slacking at keeping this thing going I better update everyone out there what is going on.

Well first off I turned 34. For some reason everything hurt more that morning than the previous. According to my Wife that would be 33 and 3/3 (pronounced 33 and three turds), cute I know.

Second we had our annual 4th of July party with almost everyone showing up. Apparently Some were a little to busy (or too cool) to show up. Actually they said they were going to show but then didn't, talk about high maintenance.

A good time was had by all. It was warm but a nice breeze off the lake kept it manageable. Too end the day we gathered all the kids and walked to the local school and played some baseball. Dad pitched, I made fun of everyone, and Carlos shagged balls for the kids. Too bad Miss High maintenance couldn't be there to take some pictures of all the fun. Oh well

Lastly was the 4th of July. We gave Tommy the camera to take photo's of the parade which I posted below and we went to the fireworks. Half way through the explosions Tommy would say "can we go home now I am tired". Of course I would say no! "Stay awake and have fun dammit!". Then he would scold me for using the word dammit....I know, good times.

Anyway, here is the 4th of July parade through Tommy's eyes, enjoy:
