The Madness Has Begun

I love the basketball tournament this time of year. you can argue all you want about who should be in and who should be out but bottom line this is the best format to crown a national championship.

Now on to my picks (Crickets Chirping)....yeah not so good yesterday. The only good thing I can say is that none of my teams that I have moving on farther in the tournament lost but I still didn't pick the bottom seeds very well. My Dad on the other hand did much better, I am sure that I hear about that soon enough.

LOST is still my favorite show on TV right now since Hero's is on a 4 week hiatus. Jack playing football at the end was a shocker. Could it be twins, brainwashing, was an other all along? not sure but it will be fun to find out.

Come on Badger!

Joe Panos was a linemen for the Wisconsin Badgers in the early 90's, lead them to a Rose Bowl win and played a for a few years in the NFL. I heard him the radio the other day making reference to how when at the NFL combine the judge at the bench press would not encourage players by name but rather by school mascot. So he got "Come On Badger", or if you were from Notre Dame you would Get "Come On Irish"....you get the point.

Yeah so I did it, I picked Wisconsin to win it all in the tournament. Short sited maybe but never in my life have I been able to put them in there and not seem like a total crazy person. I know better.

Unemployment has its advantages, money isn't one of them.

My new favorite show "Hero's" is on hiatus, so Monday nights are back to boring.

American Idol is now into the final 12, 6 girls and 6 boys. Now is when I really lose interest.

My saving grace is "LOST" on Wednesday nights, I still love this show.

I am down 6 pounds since my "vacation" started, so I got that going for me.

I realized this morning that Tommy is going to need braces, Heavy Sigh.

Well that is about it for me lately, yeah kind of boring really........oh well

The Secret

I know that this book/movie has been everywhere and by everywhere I mean on Oprah everywhere, but seriously this is getting out of hand.

A buddy of mine emails me about this "inspirational" video he watched at his (ex) wife's house and says that he is going to burn onto DVD for me. I ask is it the Secret, he confirms........this has moved from being interesting to cult"ish".

On principle I am not going to read/watch it.

Officially unemployeed

This was my first week of unemployment, which is not so bad after all. I almost forgot the kids are in school all day so I can do whatever I want with no distractions. What did I do all week you ask? well, I worked out down at the YMCA almost every morning. Turns out that I put on a few pounds over the last few weeks so I up'd my cardio workout. I do 30 minutes of walking at a speed of 3.2 - 3.4, depending what song is on my MP3 player. Total calories burned = 295, 30 minutes cross trainer, total calories burned = 400 then I lift weights twice a week on top of that. Since I have the time I was thinking of swimming after all that which would burn another 450 calories and I could do that three times a week. All that together would burn off approximately 4800 calories a week. Now if I could just take control of what I put in my mouth then we are on to something.
